Monotype DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) is a regional business unit with 100 employees in the Berlin and Bad Homburg sites. The Senior Strategic Account Manager is responsible for identifying, cultivating business in and growing high profile automotive OEMs and Tier One suppliers to the automotive industry. He/she will plan, organize, lead, and control sales growth, continued account penetration, and serve as a trusted business partner to customers on a long-term basis.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for acquiring new, and growing and maximizing business with existing high profile assigned automotive accounts
  • Sell software and/or technical solutions (e.g. embedded rendering, layout and language solutions) to large automotive OEMs and Tier One suppliers
  • Maximize opportunities for sales in both existing and new accounts
  • Identify strategic accounts, develop client relationships and represent Monotype serving as a trusted business partner on all things related to fonts
  • Cultivate relationships with senior level business contacts (e.g. senior executives, engineers, product managers, etc.)
  • Demo Monotype solutions to prospects and customers
  • Negotiate contracts and product pricing customers in concert with US headquarters
  • Achieve revenue goals on a quarterly/annual basis
  • Provide support to OEMs and monitor the implementation of our code for all projects
  • Identify product needs for assigned accounts and communicate them internally
  • Partner with other members of Monotype sales and subject matter experts to cultivate opportunities
  • Serve as a key contributor providing advice to assigned accounts and engage Monotype product teams to build solutions

 

Requirements

  • 8+ years' experience selling software, licensing agreements or Intellectual Property (IP) to large or major accounts
  • Must have cultivating and growing major accounts
  • Successful track record of outside sales experience is mandatory
  • Experience selling to embedded hardware is a plus
  • College degree
  • Cold calling and prospecting for new business experience is required
  • A working knowledge of legal contracts and software licensing is preferred
  • Track record of meeting and exceeding quotas or assigned revenue goals
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Experience in planning and implementing Account and Territory Management strategies
  • Hunter-driven mentality with a sense of humor
  • Excellent contract negotiation skills
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Extensive travel required of up to 50%
